Help Applying for Australian Working Holiday Visa (417)Country forums / Australia, New Zealand & Antarctica
Hello! I'm a dual citizen (American/Canadian) and currently I'm applying for an Australian Working Holiday visa (417). I'm applying under my Canadian passport because 1) it's easier, 2) my American passport expires soon, and 3) because I'm in the UK right now on a working holiday visa under my Canadian passport. On the application this question came up: "In the last 5 years, have you visited, or lived, outside CANADA for more than 3 consecutive months (other than Australia)?" Originally I selected "Yes," although I haven't lived in Canada in 8 years. When it came time to fill out the the sub-section for that option, it wouldn't let me go far enough back to enter in the dates I relocated to the USA. I figured I could at least enter in the information regarding my arrival to the UK, but I would have had to lie and enter a present departure date for the UK. I went back and selected "No" instead, but now I'm concerned that my visa won't be accepted because I'm not being truthful. I don't want to submit my application until I figure out what to do, haha. My hope is that somewhere out there on this forum, someone has gone through similar! Please let me know, any help would be appreciated. Thank you! -Bonnie
Why have you used the word "although" here ... it doesn't make logical sense. Shouldn't it be "because" or "since"? | 1
Although makes perfect sense. But does it really matter?? | 2
Thank you, Westwood! I appreciate your help! | 3
If you haven't lived in Canada for eight years - then "although" makes no sense ... but good luck with it OP. | 4
Deja vu here!! | 5 | |
