Hi everyone!

I’m flying into Darwin tomorrow morning and I’m looking for folks who’d like to join me to do some hiking in some of the national parks in the region. Unfortunately I haven’t planned much because I’ve been traveling for a while now and haven’t found the time to sit down and properly do my research. I’m not a driver but I’d be up for sharing costs if anyone’s driving and willing to go on a road trip. :)

There are some large youth hostels along Mitchell Street in the city - perhaps check their noticeboards on arrival, or put up your own notice.

Hiking is tough up there - sunhat, stout shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water.

We can provide a lot of additional texture when you decide your overall shape.

Thanks for the advice and your prompt reply - I’ve read up on local climate, safety, etc., I’ll be using today to supply myself with whatever I don’t have yet.

Good to do your homework for this region - lots of good places outside of Darwin, so yes would recommend transportation & be aware of where crocodiles are likely located and where you can and can't swim. Like the main beach for example - can have crocs in the water, so not advised to swim there. Don't go off hiking alone or without knowledge of areas. Yes, will need water, hat, sunscreen as advised. Most days 33+ degrees Celsius.
