Hi all,
I was wondering if 750 Euros (excl. tickets) will do as a budget for 2 persons for 4 weeks Southern Island NZ. What do you think? We probably hire a car and stay in B&B/hotels (not too expensive) or just camp. Ofcourse we also want to do stuff, but not sure what exactly yet. Do you think this will do?
Thanks!
If I were to rent a car in New Zealand, are there rest stops along the highways where I could sleep over night? Anything like they have in Canada or Usa? Or like the mega ones they have in Britain?
Hi, take a look to my pictures of New Zeland.. Here a video of my trip
Thanks for all of the advice so far -
Our July/August trip to the North Island is coming up! We are planning to visit Northland, the Coromandel, Mt. Maunganui,Rotorua and Raglan area.
So I've made plans and got some good feedback on the TT, but then I thought - Have I totally overlooked somehing major here, like can we count on campgounds being open and having facilities (like powered sites) available in winter?
I've been known to overlook important details in trips past...
I'm finding it tricky to find accommdation on the day (and at the right price) we fly into Wanaka so was thinking maybe we should just spent a few hours there and then take the 3.30 bus to Queenstown, where we are staying for the next part of our trip.
Is this completely under valuing Wanaka? We won't have a car so we'll be limited to the main town anyway.
Also, is it possible to store one's luggage somewhere for a few hours?
Thanks :)
My girlfriend and I are running drastically low on funds and need to get from Christchurch to Queenstown and are after a lift. We are happy to contribute with fuel and hopefully some good company. We need to leave Christchurch on 3rd or 4th July and have to catch a flight out of Queenstown on 6th July. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anybody listening (or watching) live right now? Nail-biting stuff with a blown-out torn spinnaker then an hourglass tangle....
Go team NZ.
Hi all,
I've been pricing car rental over the past couple of days for a trip to NZ from mid August to mid September and just wondered would I get a better deal if I wait until I get there and arrange it in person rather than booking over the net?
Can anyone recommend either way?

has anyone spent any time in twizel? will be driving from geraldine to gore and want to spend a few days in a scenic spot with good roads for cycling and good fishing. any suggestions if twizel doesn't fit the bill?
