NZ to S. America

Hi All,

Just a quick question looking for some suggestions on the cheapest possible way of travelling from NZ to S. America.. not really fussy about where I fly into, I have looked at taking a cruise from NZ to Hawaii at a pretty cheap rate and then from there making my way onwards to South America.

I would also be willing to travel from Oz as I am currently working here at the moment.

Cheers guys

I have been researching my trip for a while now and we leave next week - very excited! I just have a few questions.

1. At Fox Glacier, is it well worth the extra $$$ for the Heli Hike as opposed to just hiking (difference of $245pp).
2. I notice is says jeans are not recommended for glacier hikes - does anyone know the reason for this, is it just that denim gets cold?
3. We have about 5 days to make our way from Te Aneu to Dunedin and I have not as yet come up with idea's for this leg of the trip…

Hi,
My friend in Chile has just applied for a WHV to come to NZ for this year's quota.
The company in Chile that process it for him said he needs to have a credit card that has a $3000USD limit as proof when he enters NZ. Is this true? Could he just have a print out from his Chilean bank account to show $3000 (it's not an account that he can access overseas - but would immigration know this?).
The main problem is that he doesnt have a credit card and can't get one before he leaves Chile.

Would he be…

Palmerston North

I've just applied for a job at Massey University, at the Palmerston North campus.

Now, my question is, is Palmerston North really that bad. I've heard a lot of disparaging remarks about it (not least of all the one John Cleese made), but it must have its good points too (apart from the roads out).

Please help me realise I've done a good thing (I'm currently living in Glasgow)

Hi

Has anyone got any recommendations on the best operators currently working here? I'm hoping to take a 3-day paddle in mid-November & take the one-day Tongariro crossing walk.
Can't seem to work out the best place to base ourselves (National Park etc?) and who to tour with.
Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

Hi all,
I'm trying to organise my WHV year (maybe two…) in NZ and am having real troubles working out if I'll be able to drive over there or not. I was hoping to fly to Auckland, stay there while I get my bearings then tour both islands while I work bar/hostel/whatever jobs so I'd really like a car.

I'm trying to find info from The AA but can't get a straight answer to the following:

1. I have a full UK driving license but will only have only had it for a year by the time I go. Can I get an…

Hi all,

My husband and I will be travelling to NZ next month for the first time. We are staying for 7 days- most likely in the South Island, however I really need some ideas as to how long and where we should stay.
Ideally we'd like to relax a little but also looking at hiring a car for a few days as well.
What/ where are the 'must-do's?'

Any suggestions??

Bay of Islands

Hi. I'll be staying in Aukland from christmas eve for 2 nights, then moving onto the Bay of Islands. Does anyone know of any good (cheap) places to stay there? - oh, and any good car rental companies?

I'm looking for a design studio to rent for a few months, ideally which already has a computer with graphics software set up.

Does anyone know of anywhere like this available please?

Also, what are the costs involved likely to be?

Thanks :)
