WHV'ers

Yes i'm enjoying here...or else i'd have gone home already :)

Came on a WHV in 2002 and stayed.

It's gone from being "the time of my life" to simply being "my life".

Only regret - bloody expensive to go back and visit the family.

Where are you folks from? What made you decide to go to NZ?

I'm from the UK and was on a WHV in Australia in 2005 / 2006. I then went onto WHV in NZ for 2006 / 2007. I'm now on a proper work visa here in NZ and will probably get residency early next year. I love it here in Wellington - no hassle with commuting, people are really friendly, and cost of living is cheap as chips. I won't be going back to the UK for some time thats for sure.

Cool, I'll be going in a month and hoping to stay afterwards as well.
Nice to know from others its a good way to get in and settled through a WHV.

Hi there, I plan on doing the same (not sure about residence though) but thought about leaving Oz (where I am currently) in February 09 and then getting a WHV in NZ. How long before my visa expires here (21st Feb) should I apply for the NZ WHV? I did have my medical and also my x ray in the UK so assume that will be ok (will they ask for proof and if so, do you thinkit is worth contacting the doctor who did it now so that I can get written proof prepared?)
