i'm thinking of heading to Wanaka for Winter 2008 and am a bit clueless about where to start in terms of jobs, accommodation, the general set-up of the town. if anyone has any info about the place - however rudimentary - please pass it on!
and what's the snow season in NZ like compared to that in canada? thanks!

http://www.wanakacommunity.co.nz/index.php (The Wanaka Community site. Has a forum, classifieds, info etc. Looks like it would be pretty helpful!)
http://www.wanakachamber.co.nz/ (Wanaka chamber of commerce. Has some employment listings and an 'About Wanaka' page.)
http://www.qldc.govt.nz (regional council. Has some employment listings plus maps and info on parks, recreation, community facilities etc.)
