Hi

My friend (british) and her fiance (kiwi) applied for a spouse visa for him to go to the UK with her where they are due to get married within the next 6 months. Unfortunately, the application has been refused because the immigration officer doesn't believe that he won't work for the first 6 months (which is not allowed) even though he has enough money to support him.

Now they are now thinking of putting in an appeal.

However, does anyone know of what they could do now to hopefully get it approved or who could they contact to get further advice? They know they need to contact an immigration lawyer but I was wondering if anyone has had similar experience and got any more advice.

Thanks
Suffel

A friend of mine (kiwi) just got married first, it saved this type of issue.

You say they know they need to have Immigration Representation - I cant stress enough how important this is as you need to have everything in order during the process. The immigration process in the UK is a long long process ( I know from experience!!) and so id probably suggest if they are intending to marry then i would bring the date forward!!!!!
