Has anyone completed the tongariro treck. How hard is it and how long did it take.
Also is it a waymarked path

yes, it is marked. Lots of ascent, even more descent. No escape in the middle. 19km long. Can be done in six hours if you rush, but at a pace to see things and stop a bit (Which is the point!) it will take the 8 allowed. IF you have done a fair bit of walking in preparation.
if you don't take any exercise normally, don't even think about it.
