South Island - buses from Picton - Nelson in the morning

HI All,

I've got a bumper journey accross New Zeland planned for February. But I'm having trouble working out how to get from PIcton ferry terminal at 6am to Nelson by Midday. All of the public buses seem to leave Picton around lunch time which is too late for me.

Are there buses in the morning or is hitching my only option?

I think you're going to be out of luck getting an early bus to Nelson. AHAIK, there's only the one bus which departs Picton at 12.30 and gets to Nelson at 2.50pm.
You may need to alter your plans slightly as relying on hitching a ride may not pan out either.

There's no problem that can't be ignored if we really put our minds to it.
