Hi I'm travelling with friends for 10 days in the north island and need to fill in the last 2 days before we fly out of Auckland.

We start in Auckland and head to Hamilton for two days with friends and visit Waitomo caves then to Rotarua, Mt Ruapehu and Lake Taupo. We are not sure where else to go after that.

If anyone has suggestions it would be great.

Perhaps Mt Mauganui (near Tauranga) would be a good choice. It's reasonably close to both Taupo/Rotorua and Auckland and offers some good scenery and things to do. Or possibly head up the Coromandel Peinsula.......it's beautiful.
