Need help with 12 day itinerary for New Zealand in February

Booking web sites for domestic flights? Air New Zealand and Jetstar direct. My husband works out of Auckland Airport and he stores cars for a lot of out of town travellers who find it cheaper to fgo to Auckland and fly out of there than smaller regional airports.

Both Akaroa & Kaikoura are popular day trips from Chch, but you don't have a full day in Chch. The earliest you could arrive would be 9:45 am. I strongly recommend that you spend some time looking around the city. It is still a shocking sight.

I might be going through the same itinerary in the reverse order. That way it works well with flight times, giving me more time at the destination.

At this point only thing that I have some doubts about is whether to do:
Queenstown - Wanaka - Mt Cook - Christchurch
OR
Queenstown - Wanaka - Fox Glacier - Christchurch

What do you guys think between Mt. Cook and the West Coast glaciers? Which would be a must do in your opinion?

Has been a while since I have been to Mt Cook, but possibly wouldn't bother. The glaciers are pretty awesome. Just my thoughts, but if you aren't from an area where you have seen glaciers, then I would go there.

Can you tell me which bus company offers the overnight Queenstown-Milford tour? I have not been able to find any overnight buses for this route or for Christchurch-Queenstown. Certainly you are a better researcher than I.

I had the overnight cruise in mind... Search for Milford sound mariner.
