All these comments are immaterial as I don't think the OP has a snowball's of getting a visa to work in AKL - I mean surely we produce photographers - now a nurse in kaitaia or a Physchiatrist in Wellington - maybe ;-)
"Do you know what an individuals opinion is?" - exactly! And just because your opinion doesn't always agree with other people's, there's no need to resort to insults. It's called tolerance.
Obviously what you think is a "sterile environment" isn't what I would consider a sterile environment. I have no issue with you not liking Auckland; personally I'm not a great fan of Palmerston North or Scunthorpe (look it up) but there are probably some people who think those places are great to live in. And good luck to them.
"I am simply saying if your want the best experience in New Zealand as a foreigner then don't stay in Auckland longer than you need too." - again, your opinion but I think you'll find that a lot of people who visit New Zealand (and who want to live in NZ for a length of time) want to experience the whole of New Zealand and that includes Invercargill, Greymouth, Wellington, Queenstown, Rotorua and Auckland and all the places in between.

Their is much better natural beauty in the rest of New Zealand.
This one's for the Auckland-haters! http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11659449
The article was embarrassingly silly ... written by a 16yo. But I guess it passes as feature commentary in the NZ Herald.
What a funny wee little country it is.
