are they as good as they look?

If you just have a credit card, not a bank account, how do you pay it off? Do they send you a bill once a month?

Thanks

AMEX & Diners do not work on you have a bank account.

You can pay them off at Aust Post for a fee.

Granted that they would have wanted proof of income when you first opened the account.

But they don't care if you have a bank account or not.

In Aust, 95% of employers want a bank account for the wages/salary to go into.

A daycat trait: too many replies for the 1 post by an OP.

Yes, AMEX & Diners will send you an account/statement at the end of each month.

Visa & Mastercard are all issued by banks.

Thinking about it, in Aust, all the AMEX & Diners Club cards that have come into my paws (not mine, I don't have them) are issued by the banks.

Don't think that in Aust, AMEX or Diners issue the cards themselves.

Ah, you talking about NZ and not Aust.

Ok. Sorry about that.

After that load of rubbish, Kiwibank has nothing whatsoever to do with Amex and Diners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

OP, You'd have to ask Kiwibank themselves how it all works. I have a Warehouse Credit card which is underwritten by Westpac but my monthly bills come from The Warehouse Finance. that is the only connection I have with Westpac.

I think it will probably work as follows : you'll get a bill every month, which you will be able to pay by transfer from your regular bank account (I assume you have one of these), or by sending off a cheque.

I don't have a Kiwibank credit card, but this is how it used to work with my Harrods credit card in the UK that wasn't issued by a bank.

And most likely can only be paid in New Zealand.

Damn, stupid reply seeing as its a bank with no overseas affiliation--- NZ owned.

I have probably missed one of your posts - are you overseas at the moment and thinking about how to pay it when you are in NZ?

Basically you can make payments through postshops (Post Offices), direct debit payments and online through internet banking. They don't mention cheques on the kiwibank link i have posted below but I can't see why you couldn't use them either.

I know from personal experience that if I pay money from my [ANZ] NZ cheque account to another NZ credit card (but different bank) it is a "pay bills" option. If transferring funds from my NZ account to my UK credit card then I need to pay money into my UK cheque/savings account and then onto my credit card.

So, it will probably depend on where you are.
