Definitely declare it. ALL food has to be declared.

When you say declare it do you mean to just write down on the arrival card i have it in my checked baggage or did you mean to physically declare (show it) to someone at the airport.

OP, you tick the box that asks about food items then if Biosecurity want to see it, they will ask. NZ is very strict about not declaring food items.

Why are you even bothering? They do sell the stuff over yonder. Nice mess in your luggage if the top comes off. Baggage handlers don't really give good touchy-feely 101 kid glove treatment to your personal belongings. It's against their nature.

I know but i bought it only a few days ago in Aus $18, and ive heard it's overpriced in NZ i dont know?

it's not massage oil, it's organic unrefined 100% extra virgin coconut oil

In Fiji they use coconut oil for massage, as it it also really good for your skin, but agree it also has many benefits for cooking and even taking a teaspoon to control sugar cravings.

Yup! you can take it to New Zealand, customs have no problem with it

but you still have to declare it.
