I am returning to Australia for a quick holiday at the end of April. I would really like to go out in Melbourne when I am there, but since it has been a while, I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that does a 90's night, prefereably on a Friday or Saturday. The city or inner south/south-east suburbs would be preferred also. We are in our late 20's so dont necessarily want the place to be packed with 18 year olds but dont mind paying a small cover charge.

Is hitching safe/advised/a bit of an adventure in Australia? I will mostly be on the east coast i think

When is peak season? I'm going to be there from tomorrow (29th march) until 5th May. Do you think i will have trouble finding accomodation in places and is it generally advised to book ahead?

We sell our relieable Ford Falcon now in Sydney! It's the perfect car for travellers. Easy to sleep in for 2 people. We drove 6 month all over Australia and had no problems (only on tube had a leak). It was also very comfortable to sleep inside. We are very sad that we have to sell it! Otherwise we would take it home to Austria.

Hi,

When we get to Aus in late May we want to fruit pick for about 6 weeks. We're flying into Sydney and are thinking about heading down to the area around the Murry River on the NSW/Victoria border which includes: Mildura, Merbein, Red Cliffs, Dareton, Wentworth.

The area sounds nice with stuff to do in our free time, plus there should be stuff (veg, citrus, grape pruning) to actually pick.

If anyone can support out plan with any stories, experiences, or suggestions, we will be very grateful…

Am going to go to Tassie at some point in the next 2 months....how long to stay there is the question. Days? Weeks? Months??

Was wondereing if anybody had any advice on which boat to choose when sailing through the Whitsundays..
I have just booked a package and there are 2/3 options - Broomstick, Reality Is & Condor.
Anyone have any opinion on these or have a particular favourite of their own?

It's early days but I just thought I'd put a few feelers out to see if I could generate a bit of info. I'm considering travelling across the Nullarbor Plains to Perth by motorbike, starting from Melbourne or even Sydney. Has anyone ever done this? How was it? Any advice would be most welcome. Depending on the practicality and what comes of the plans I'd be looking to head out maybe in the next few weeks. If so, anyone interested in coming along?

This is most definitely travel related given how many km I have clocked up this morning.....

Just had one of my bi-annual meat pie cravings and spent nearly an hour driving around only to find my old meat pie suppliers all seem to have closed down or are now serving those vile factory made pies with that horrible hard dry brittle pastry. And I refuse to eat those. What happened to meat pies with lovely flakey filo pastry? In anycase have resorted to 2 day old leftover pasta for lunch.

So....where…

Has pleaded guilty and will more then likely serve his sentence in Australia. I would prefer he didn't as he has been tried by the US and should be kept in a US prison at their expense.
