Can anyone give me some advice with these travel ideas I want to pursue...

travel from Perth to Broome (preferably a road trip)

travel from Broome to Alice Springs (flights?)

travel from Alice Springs to Uluru (flights?

travel from Uluru to Sydney (flights?)

It seems that Australians like to claim people on both sides of the fence here.
If someone spent at least part of his/her life in Australia then we call them ours but if they spent most of their life somewhere else and THEN came to Australia we still call them ours.
People who are still considered Australian even though they have lived overseas for years (in some cases decades) include Rupert Murdoch, Megan Gale, Mel Gibson, the boys from AC/DC, Harry Kewell and Anthony La Paglia.
On the other side…

Hi, has anyone travelled on a houseboat in the Hawkesbry River in NSW or the Tweed River on Gold Coast? Or Clarence River or Yamba? Or elewhere in this region? Any ideas or tips or advice>? We are 2 adults and 1 child from NZ looking to go for approx 4-7 days with hotels on each side. Many thanks!

My friend and I are going to Aus in a week on Working Holiday visas. On the government site, it said that roughly $5000 AUD was acceptable as sufficient funds to support ourselves for the initial part of our stay. Does anyone have any experience with this? The site was kind of wishy-washy, it'd be great to know people's real experiences! Is this assessment reasonable? Is it enforced? Are a lot of factors involved in deciding what the "acceptable minimum" is?

Has any1 used a good guide book for Australia lately?
In the past I've always bought LP, but I spent 3 weeks in China recently and the LP guide was full of glaring inaccuracies... loads of other backpackers I spoke to found the same, so my "brand loyalty" has now weakened considerably

I've heard that most Palm Cove (Queensland) Restaurants are expensive.
Any body recommend reasonably priced restaurants there which provide good food ?
Are there any BYO restaurants there ?

we're living in sydney. have 2 and abit months off work in september and planning to drive from sydney through victoria - great ocean road- along south coast of SA and WA then up west australia coast - perth - broome and up to darwin and back through the middle - alice - back down to adelaide and across back to sydney. have done a fair bit of outback driving so know what expect but not sure if it's do-able in 2 months. any top tips or time scales? thanks.

Can anyone recommend a budget hotel or backpacker accommodation near the University of Melbourne (Parkville Campus)? My wife and I will be studying at the University and are looking for a place to stay for a week or so once we arrive in July. Would also greatly appreciate any tips on finding a long term rental (flat or house).

My bf and I are travelling to Australia in December. We will be staying at least 3-4 days in each of these cities: Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Are there any places or activities that you can recommend in these cities? We are on a moderate budget, not necessarily tight but not excessive at all. We are just regular travelers visiting Australia for the first time.

Our interests/plans include a wine-tasting tour; spending at least a day at the beach; going to the casino; shopping…

Tickets are booked, camper is rented!
Arriving in Darwin on Sunday morning, 2 1/2 days to hang about and check out Litchfield.
Wednesday renting a 4WD camper from CamperWorld for 14 days.
Three days in Kakadu.
Gibb River Road to Broome, spend 4 days in Broome. Is it worth the drive to Cape LeVeque?
East to the Bungle Bungles.
Back to Darwin.
I know we can do this in 14 days but will we still have time to stop along the way for side trips?
Are the campgrounds first come first serve? Not sure where we…
