If you put your nationality into the visa finder of the official Australian immigration website, the option of a WHV/W&HV does not come up.
Put your nationality as UK, the WHV option comes up.
Put your nationality as US, the W&HV option comes up.
This is purely talking about the easy to get WHV/W&HV (for some nationalities), I am not saying there are no other visas, but those are harder to get without an employer sponsorship, or skills to apply (on the SOL list or under regional visa application).

OP, if you want to try it out, NZ will allow Singaporeans a WHV.
While its not Australia, if you are under 31, its a chance to work here in this part of the world, or there in NZ anyway.

Yeah I was looking into taking the visa from NZ.
I don't suppose I can work in Aussie with a WHV NZ visa do I?
Haha. Thanks for the input though. It's been really helpful. I'm gonna try really hard to et sponsorship still. (:

Hi. I am travelling around SE for a year and I was in Australia for a month. I am awed by the the phase of working life and the balance of nature and city in this country. I would like to experience traveling and working there for 12months.
I am a graphic designer, currently taking the path of a freelancer. I am planning to gain some experience from people in this industry too if this opportunity arises. I am hoping to apply for a work holiday visa or a a temporary working visa to support my interest in work and travel. But I found out this will not be applicable as I am a citizen of Singapore.
I don't mind taking on short work opportunities (3-6 months) too. Are there other ways I can make this happen? Are there visas that I can take on as temporary work traveller?
Your kind advice is greatly appreciated. (:
I am determine to take a break next year and really hoping to be doing it in Australia.
Thank you.Best of luck, but there are a lot of graphic designers who are unemployed in Australia. Not meaning to put you off coming here, but just letting you know, it is a very tough market.
If you can do web development or design, there are a lot of jobs for that.
