I think not…..did you bother to read my thoughts? Bit rude you are if you ask me

I find that you need at least 13 hours to fully appreciate Sydney, but then again, if you've seen Olympic Park and Circular Quay you've seen it all, really.

great review I reckon - re the homeless and beggars - there are 100s (maybe1000s) of people who sleep rough in Sydney each night and the number is increasing each year. Many agencies attempt to fix but seems no easy fix in sight.

If you walked around the central area of many large modern cities that's what you would see - the locals going about their business (from the homeless right through to the party goers).

All seemed a bit self indulgent.

  1. I wouldn't have Sydney Olympic park on my sightseeing list if I were here 12 weeks. God only knows what possessed you to use half of your single day here to do that.
  2. All those people drinking lager round The Rocks? They're tourists, most of them poms.

Twelve hours in Sydney and you choose to go to Olympic Park? Serious mistake!!! I venture to suggest a single ferry trip anywhere on the harbour would have changed your entire outlook on the city.

Yep, ferry to Manly - 90 minutes return and you see, for $15, one of the best sights in the world. Or, ferry to Watson's Bay, similar views and you could then have a good meal. Bus to Palm Beach? Walk around the Harbour from The Bridge to the Opera House and into the Botanic Garden then out to Mrs Macquarie's Chair? Maybe out on to the wharf for lunch? Walk across the Bridge and catch a ferry back? Ferry to the zoo? Bus to Bondi and walk to Bronte?

I assume you spent your time at Olympic park because you had business there or a sports event of some sort that got cancelled last minute??? Having lived in Sydney for 30-odd years I have spent a fair bit of time in Olympic park for various reasons, very few of them voluntary. If that was your choice of where to go with one day available, then what did you expect? Without thinking too hard Olympic Park wouldn't make the top 100 things to do in Sydney with one day. Personally I would go with a ferry ride to..... well anyway but my preferences would be Watsons Bay for Lunch followed by Manly.
