Hey Eveyone.
Looking at heading down to Thredbo or Persiher Blue during the last two weeks of July. Need some advice. Looking to head down just for the weekend, or maybe a long weekend.
Looking for accomodation for at least 3 people. Trying to keep the price down so a good affordable recommendation would be great. I have no ideal of prices, is $150 per night realistic, or can it be done cheaper, or will more money have to be set aside for accomodation. Would idealy like to be near the slopes rather than having to get a shuttle bus to the slopes, but I am open to any good recommendations.
Is there an abundance of accomodation. If we just turned up, would it be easy to get a room somewhere?
Cheers guys
Matt

The cheaper accommodation is in Jindabyne. Look for all inclusive packages that combine lift ticket, ski hire and accommodation.
Perisher used to do this with the Station Resort in Jindabyne - train pass, lift ticket, ski hire, meals and accommodation in one package and it used to be very good value.
Have a look at what's on offer here.
There is a lovely YHA Hostel in Thredbo, and it goes into ski-lodge mode for the season; it might be an option, but booking may well be a drama.
yeah ian has a good suggestion. YHA at thredbo is proberbly the cheapest option is you want to stay on the mountain.
Otherwise its Jindabyne. The station resort gives pretty good package deals to perrisher blue because its owned by perrisher blue. Its basic accomodation, but its about 5km outside jindabyne.
There is also a backpackers in Jindabyne.
You will not likley get very good deals if you go in school holidays. If you want a ski bargain (relative bagain anyhow) wait until later in the season.

Thredbo YHA costs $150 for two nights for an adult in peak season. So if the budget you mentioned was for 3 people, you may need to allocate more to accommodation. Or go in shoulder season, when it's $42 pp per night.

heya! me too! i went with this great company on 05 - www.ozsnowadventures.com.au and the whole package is about $500 and that includes eveyrthing! im looking to go june 22-24th if u wana organise something...

You will need to bokk - that is peak season
Best deals to be had are the Station Resort, Jindabyne - you will good a good deal including lift passes at Perisher, accomodation, breakfast. YOu can also have evening meals and lessong included for minimal rates.
Accommodation is warm, clean and quite nice.
Generally Bunk rooms sleeping from 2 - 10 people with a bathroom for each bunk room. If there is 3 of you it is good - you can get a 3 person room and not have to share!
Cheaper option is the Jindabyne Scout Hall which is more like a giant hostel with shared facilities and ten thousand people in the room (there is always one group that gets in at 4 after a night on the town - usualollyy my group - don't waorry though, the families take their revenge when all the kids get up excited at 6am)!!!
