Here's another photo of Eigashima. I'll be staying just around the headland in the centre of the photo. If you look carefully, you can see the Osaka smog in the distance, beyond Awaji Island.

Ah, Newland Head from the Bluff. I used to hang glide along those cliffs in the 70's when I was young and stupid.
I agree that your photo is more romantic but mine more closely represents reality.
A bit of trivia - All those boats in the harbour aren't fishing boats they're boats for harvesting seaweed. Offshore there are tens of square kilometres of racks on which they grow seaweed to make, supposedly, the best nori you can buy.
