Ian - this thread - the anything but Brief History of TTYC sort of explains things! But you'd never bother. The OP of that thread is still around very very ocasionally (not Australian) .

Very interesting ryb ... I guess. I prefer the Zeitgeist that the Thorntree only really exists from the day you start on it - like being born - everything prior is just so much bunkum.

Meanwhile, (from anyone) any more incisive insights on venues or other add-ons to the IDDBBQPU.

I have no insights (incisive or otherwise) on venue other than that it's easily accessible.

So what are the suggestions so far? Willy beach or the garden with the railway station name - can't think what it's called off hand.

Williamstown (either foreshore or back beach) remains firmly on the agenda, and Flagstaff Gardens have also been added to the mix. But there is a range to choose from, indeed.

I do see the advantage of the Flagstaff Gardens being close to public transport and all, but having a barbie on t he beach, with the grog flowing, the meat sizzling, we could very easily imagine we're a bunch of 20 somethings having a luau.
