So, last Friday I bought a ticket on Jetstar and paid for it using POLI. Something I have done often the past couple of years and no problems.

Anyhow, at the final click of the payment process the system fell over. My bank account now shows I have paid Jetstar, Jetstar say I havent paid them and my ticket is on hold pending payment.

When I rang Jetstar they said they cant issue the ticket till they get the money. ANZ Bank say their system shows I have paid Jetstar and its nothing to do with them.

Does this mean I'm stuffed?

What's POLI? Can't you ask them?

POLi is Australia's leading real-time online debit payment method. It offers a secure alternative to PayPal, BPAY and credit cards.

It belongs to Australia Post.

I'll be on to them tomorrow.

Ahhh it's associated with Australia Post!!

I see their retail expertise more aligned to running a $2 shop rather than retail financial services!!

I'll be on to them tomorrow.

If it's like our post office there will 20 people in the queue out the door and onto the street.

Merco Limited is the main distributor for POLi in NZ. So I don't know how that ties in with Australia Post.

In response to #6

POLi is owned by Aust Post - in NZ they (Aust Post) use Merco (I assume cause Aust Post itself not present in NZ?) -- on another note a lot of banks in Aust and NZ advise against using POLI as its considered insecure and almost impossible to reverse transactions.

I'm not sure why anyone needs to use POLI (or PayPal) if the payee is a merchant with credit card facilities ... just use a credit card if there are no fees, or a debit card or BPay if there are fees.

And I really can't abide all these brands that muck around with capitals in mid-word and starting with lower case. I blame sTeve jObs.

You cannot use credit card with Jetstar as they charge a fee. Same with Paypal.

There is no fee with Poli. I could also use Direct Deposit also with no fee.

Anyhow, Poli have replied to my email send 9pm last nights and asked for a transaction number I didnt include in original email. So they are following it up.
