One notable feature of Broadbeach is the impressive longevity of some of its restaurants - places like Mario's, Valentino's, George's, Yellow Fin, Madison's, and others ... seem to have been there forever ... presumably doing what they do pretty well.
Also note that Burleigh Heads (one of my favourite GC beaches) has had something of a makeover - its formerly daggy shopping precinct now fairly bubbles with modern new eateries and other shops.
