Hi again,

Is there any way of seeing the Whitsundays/GBR from the air, maybe with a landing/snorkel included? has anybody done this as I would love to hear people's feedback on this kind of experience.

Thank you :-)

Can't help with any info on the Whitsundays but if you are going out to the Reef from Cairns or Port Douglas, Quicksilver have a helicopter that you can either take from Cairns or Port Douglas out to the Quicksilver pontoon and come back on the boat or have a flight over the reef from the pontoon or take the helicopter back to Cairns/Port Douglas instead of the boat. I think they are stationed in Port Douglas and also do flights from there to wherever. It is a tremendous experience. We have only tried it once but would like to do it again.

I did a scenic flight from Brampton Island years ago over Whitehaven Beach. There are dayflights to the heart shaped reef, so maybe Hamilton Island airport now has day flights?

Heaps of options available. here'es a couple.

I've flown over the reef in a light plane but haven't done the seaplane/snorkelling bit. Certainly worth seeing from the air. not cheap though.
