Hi,
We travel with 4 and 2 year olds with a campervan in Australia.
What are the parking options for campervan near Sydney? How can we get from the park to Sydney?
Thanks

I recommend this one - a well managed campground in a pleasant environment with a cityrail train station around 900 metres away, buses probably closer.
The Sheralee at Rockdale would be a little handier to public transport (there's a bus stop nearby), but is a little further from the railway station . It is also closer to town, but I haven't stayed there and so can make no recommendation. The surroundings seem somewhat less attractive than Lane Cove, you'd be pretty much under the flight path of the airport's E/W runway and I'd have doubts about a campground that does not include photographs of its site on its website. .
Use this site for planning public transport. http://www.transportnsw.info/

Thank you groo!
I like The Sheralee at Rockdale, seem like a reasonable distance from the Sydney attractions.
It is weird to me though that on their web site they do not reffer to the transportation to Sydney, so it is a good think you can give us this important information about the nearby stations.
Thanks for the info :)
Another option is Narrabeen Lakes https://www.sydneylakeside.com.au/
This sits right on a beach, with an ocean surf beach on one side, and lagoon on the other, a short walk to the bus to Sydney, cafes and shops. Really lovely spot.
Further out there are bunch of parks near Wollongong to the south of Sydney, all on the beach and close to the rail line. http://www.wollongongtouristparks.com.au/bulli/Pages/default.aspx
I agree re Narrabeen Lakes - it's a great spot. I'd initially rejected it because public transport from CBD to the Peninsular is slow, but in reality the journey would only take around 20 minutes longer each way than for the other two parks. You'd also be able to enter the city via the Manly ferry - a wonderful trip.
From Narrabeen lakes you have 2 bus options - direct bus to the city, and, if you walk into the shops, it's an express and will take about 50 minutes. Or, the bus from Church Point to Manly Wharf from where you can take the ferry to the city, which is an amazing ride, and everything you ever need to see in Sydney from the deck of a ferry for $7! (Much cheaper than a harbour cruise but all the same sights).

Eventually we went ahead and booked the Narrabeen lakes :)
Thanks harry for the tips about the bus and the ferry.
here's your bus timetable, and it appears the bus to manky wharf actually goes right down Narrabeen Park Parade, past the camping ground! http://www.sydneybuses.info/routes/155_20151004_tt.pdf
These are the buses to the city and surrounding suburbs http://www.sydneybuses.info/routes/182_20151004_tt.pdf
