Hi,
does anyone know if it is possible to get a boat from anywhere in Indonesia/Timor to Oz?
We are trying to get to Oz overland from the UK and this is the only stumbling block.
Thanks

Unless you take a cruise ship like P&O or join a crew on a private yacht or research vessel, then no it's not possible. There is no ferry service from Indo to Australia or vice versa, you can search TT and return loads of answers on the topic.
Cheers

I made enquiries recently to one of the shipping lines (cargo) that operates from Darwin to East Timor and Singapore and return.
This is what they said:
"Thank you for your enquiry, unfortunately we are restricted by vessel
space and Australian Customs and can NOT take passengers."
Also insurance has gone through the roof as well over the last decade. Alot of these shipping companies charge more than cruise ships, if and when they do take passengers.
This question and going from Panama to Columbia must be the most asked questions on TT, yet funnily enough no one has ever responded saying they found a way.
You can get a dirt cheap air ticket on tiger airways from Singapore to Darwin. Should be less than $100 AUD.
