So I think I need to fill in THIS form. Perhaps I'm having a major blonde moment, but when the ask for "Enrolled" address, is that my previous Australian address where I was enrolled, or my current overseas address?
I ask because according to this site, I'm no longer enrolled in Australia at my previous address....
Confused....

Enrolled to me would mean the address you were last enrolled on the electoral roll in Australia.. they will ask this so they can tick you off and verify who you are.
Are you still contactable through the address at which you were last enrolled? If so, use that one. It is only, at present, an assumption that your enrollment has been cancelled. This may not have happened, but in any case the previous enrolled address will remain on computer and will help to identify you.
If there is a problem with your application they will probably contact you. It may mean re enrolling, but the hassle involved is probably worthwhile as this election promises to be both close and important.
How long have you been away from your previously enrolled address? If it's a long time and other people have moved into that residence and AEC letters sent to you at that address were not replied to, then your name may have been taken off the electoral roll.
Alternative is to have someone resident in Australia contact the AEC office for your electoral division and get the score from a real person.

Thanks all - I put down my old address in Australia which I was enrolled for the last Federal election, and put my postal address as my address in Dubai. I've faxed it over, so will see what happens.
If I do have to re-enroll I don't mind the hassle involved - I want to vote!

Where are you?
Go to the nearest Aussie embassy or consulate.
I've had to vote in Beijing on a couple of occasions.
In Tonga the consulate sorts things out for you.

so once you are properly enrolled you then need to decide whether to do a postal vote or, if there's a consulate in dubai, where it is and when to go so you can roll up and vote there.
last federal election i was in central america and there was no consulate in costa rica, so i was going to have to do a postal vote, but in the end i was in new zealand on the day so just made sure i was in auckland and rocked up to the consulate. it was fun - gossiped to the security guard about this and that while waiting and then got to go into a nice office to fill out the forms. so much better than some dinky little cardboard booth in a school hall! :-D

yeah. 8-) In Beijing, they had a girl running around offering everyone a cuppa.

If you do not appear on the electronic check, then you have been removed from the electoral roll. You will have to go through the whole rigmarole again with the new requirements of proof of eligibility to vote.
