For the record, Fort Street Boys High was offered entry to GPS competition at the same time as SBHS but declined.
SBHS is "the most prestigious of the public" because it chose to bend over for the GPS mob? I think not.
Where I came from the kids who went to the GPS schools (and there were a lot of them) were the ones who couldn't gain admission to Fort Street or similar, but I digress from the thread.
I seem to remember a more than adequate fish and chips at the Palm Beach RSL.

June you idiot, the only GPS schools are Newington, St Ignatius, St Joseph's, Sydney Boys, Sydney Grammar, The Armidale Schol, Kings and Scots. It's all here. There's also a group calling themselves the APS (Associated Public Schools) - sort of like a second tier.
