Snorkelling at Fitzroy Island, Kuranda Markets & skyrail, Atherton Tableland waterfalls, Port Douglas / Ellis Beach, Chillagoe Caves, Raging Thunder whitewater rafting on the Tully River ???
Cairns itself has little to interest tourists, & is best used as a central base to explore the region. Having said that, there are plenty of bars & restaurants in town.

Hi there,
There is heaps to do in 4 days depending on your interests. I would suggest taking a public bus to Palm Cove to check out the beach (think it cost around $7.50 for a day pass on the bus), have lunch and a couple of drinks. Take a day tour of the Tableslands and check out the beautiful waterfalls and scenery of that area, go into any tourist information centre and book. Hire a car and drive up to Port Douglas for the day, stopping at beaches along the way. Go to the esplanade and sunbake and have a swim in the loogan or check out the beautiful botanical gardens in Edge Hill. Take the Train to Kuranda (Leave from Cairns Central Shopping Centre) and come back on the Sky Rail (amazing view of lush mountains) or visa versa. If you are a coffee lover head up to Mareeba where there are several coffee plantations and cafes, visit the Cairns Wildlife Sarfari on the way. Or hang out, go shopping, hit a couple of the pubs or restruants, there are heaps around the esplanade.
Have a great time!
