Where are they now?

JJack just started a thread on members being on here more than 5 years and their views.

I happen to mention a former member Steve 252 who apparantly sadly passed in a motor bike accident and I don't want jack thread to go off topic.

While I done a quick search I came across names like irishrover khunwilko Tezza

Fergs66 was a character and that's going back

I am sure there is many more names that you guys remember and a bonus would be if anyone knows if they ever settled in Thailand or somewhere else.

I stumbled across some Cambodian travel forum, and saw a poster named "soi dog". Wonder if that's our old buddy?

#2. soidog was an ex-miner from Sunderland area (UK) who retrained in IT and worked in Pharma industries in Belgium(?) - met him once in Bangkok and had a good drink with him.

So old Fergs has gone back to England has he? the last time I met him he was happily living in Chaam as was Otny.

Do you know for a fact that Steve252 passed away? I remember people saying it possibly happened but no one seemed to know for sure or have any real evidence

I wonder what makes someone totally stop posting when they have very regularily done so.

Anyone remember BobTrips? He was the photographer who travelled on the smell of an oily rag.

#6 I joined this site in 2003 when I first went to LOS, but stopped posting after a few years because I felt that in the fast changing world there, my info. was no longer relevant.
Also the great purge of many of the previously mentioned characters sapped the spirit from the forum.
I still stalk from the sidelines in the hope that some day I will return to Thailand.

Got me looking back through PM's, jogged the memory there: Charleyboy, toolsforfools, PukhetRichard, sawadeekrab, Lotteko, somebodyelse, Girllrig, Gorshar; who knows where they are now? Bwanabrad is still in LOS last I heard.

Millwall_Fan is running the Olde Belle in Chiang Mai.
Girllrig is back in the US after becoming jaded with living in Thailand and in particular Thai men.
I believe Gorshar is busy running his Siem Reap guesthouse the Two Dragons
Camboman was from Portland, dont know if he is still there though.

The wife as we are talking about Irishrover. If he was the biological parent then it would be his daughter, not stepdaughter.

Moderator RomanB confirmed Steve252's accident and death in a post some years ago but I don't know from where he got the information.

billp is one of the people who just stop posting after being very active with several thousand posts. I hope he is still well and alive between Vancouver, Berlin and Bangkok.

Others just seem to lose interest slowly like Chanchao who can be seen only once month or so.

Thanks for the Gorshar update. I am heading to Siem Reap soon and was going to stop in. I wont bother now. (Stopping in that is).

I assume Tezza, Kanaga, Prof Fart (and their many aliases) got banned. Tezza still posts on the Tavelfish forums and I'd wager Farty and Kanaga are stirring things up on Thai Visa.

I just did a search on Thai visa. Couldn't see anyone called farty but kananga was there. His posts were a mix of advice, information and humorous anecdotes

lots of old timers on that link that are no longer on site, or changed handles.

What years was RomanB around? Trouble is, its been so long (10yrs+) things seem to run into each other leaving the waters muddied.

It was officially confirmed . On the (pre BBC Thorntree) 'All About Thorntree' branch someone asked where Steve252 had gone and moderator RomanB replied that quote - "we received word that he was killed in a motorbike accident in SEA".

It would be good to have BMTA back to deal with some of these questions about 'hostels'. He once started a thread about the commercialised hostels that were springing up in Bkok.
