Need cheap accomodation- lanta, muuk and phi phi islands

Country forums / Thailand / Thailand

Hey.

Me and my girlfriend are coming towards the end of a 3month tour of Asia. Just got koh lanta, koh muuk, koh rok and phi phi left to do.

We are looking for the very cheapest places to stay as budget has taken a hammering elsewhere. We normally just turn up to these places and generally that has been fine but got bitten in krabi as there were literally no rooms left and ended up spending 1000 BT a night (may not sound much to some but our daily living budget is only 1500!)

We really like the sandy white beaches and are not a huge fan of overly touristy places like krabi/samui/Phuket. Ideally looking for bungalow/ rooms where you can chill out on the beach.

If you can offer advise about any of the following it would be really appreciated. Accomodation is the priority but travel and things to do would help as well.

Northern beaches of koh lanta - 3/5 nights
Camping on koh rok - 2 days
Koh muk/ koh kraden - 3/5 nights
Phi Phi and surrounding islands 3 nights

Thanks josh

I'll be the first to let you know, Phi Phi is gunna kill your budget. You've got no chance if you think 1000bt was too much in Krabi.

There's an Aussie with a 'camp hotel' on Muk, I havn't stayed there, but he has tents for around 250bt.

Agreed, if you thought that Krabi was too expensive then Ko Phi Phi definitely won't work for your budget. I'd go to one of the less known islands if you want to save money.

Hi guys.

Thanks for that, I have heard similar stuff about phi phi.

Might just bite the bullet for 1 night and get out and see the sites and head off.

Will look in to the tents, could be fun.

Hi, in Koh Lanta you can stay in Long beach where you can find bungalows for 300-350 bahts (Chillout House), or go to Clayzy House dormitory for 140 bahts per night.
