Hi again folks, | ||
The train to Ayuttaya leaves from Hualompong. In fact, everytime I've ever travelled by train it has been from Hualompong except once from Don Muang, after it left Hualompong, including to Surat Thani, and once when I got on at Trang and went BACK to Hualompong I have heard of a southern bus station on the Thonburi side but never a southern train station. As I went to Surat Thani from Hualompong, and returned to Hualompong from Trang, I would wonder where the trains from this supposed Thonburi train station go. | 1
So far as I know, trains from Thonburi station are just local, and all long distance trains leave from Hua Lumpung. | 2
Almost all train services that would interest a tourist leave from Hualampong. The exception is the train service to Khanchaburi which leaves from Thonburi. | 3
Fpor all those catching train south from Hualompong, that miss thier train do not despair. All trains going south, first have to go north and through Bang Su Juntion, after that, they then loop west across the river, before turning south through Thonburi. This gives you more than enough time to cross the river and head out to the nearest railway station. There is one located somewhere between Central Pinklao and the Southern Bus Station, but on the other side of the road. Can't recall the name of it off hand, but it is within sight of the ear hospital out that way. Same with people coming into Bkk. Get off here for Khao Sahn Rd and save yourself at least an hour if not more than if you go all the way to Hualompong station first. | 4
