Hi, Do i need a visa (UK passport) to get from India to Thailand. ? Also is it easy enough to get a new Indian visa from Thailand ? I am planning a 3 week visit to Thailand to get new Indian visa and to look around. Any advice on whats good and whats not. Is it generally more expensive than India ?? Many thanks
You should be able to obtain 30 day visa exempt entry into Thailand to cover your stay. Have no knowledge of Indian visas from Embassy in Bangkok. Can't compare as it has been 30 years since I have lived in India | 1
It should be the standard 5 working days. I don't know how goes specifically for Brits.
Generally, yes. On the other hand, the low end accom in Thailand is usually better quality than the equivalent level in India. Also better quality food at low end budget in Thailand. What that means in the long run is that if you spend as much in India as you do in Thailand, you probably end up at the same quality level anyway. | 2
seeing your name I suppose OP is Indian descent? there are too many Singhs here in BKK-seemingly all doing tailoring-could you talk with them to end that pestering habit of soliciting us every 5 mins for a new suit/ do YOU need a new suit every 5 mins? | 3
For info about getting Indian visa , see this - GETTING A VISA FOR INDIA WHILE IN THAILANDNote , even though its old thread ,it has been updated. | 4
Hi, there seems to be some current confusion about the situation for actually getting a 2nd (consequetive) Indian visa at all. Things seem to have changed lately and I haven't found any concrete evidence that the Indian embassy would issue a 2nd visa, and if they would, it may well be for a shorter period than desired. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?messageID=15382510 I have a similar issue - wanting to stay in India for as long as possible (UK passport) | 5
RE #5 , It depends on which consulate you go to . Its confusing , because they don't operate on a standard system , they all make up their own rules . By the way don't bother reading their websites , what it says on the website and what actually happens when you apply can be 2 different things . | 6
