Guesthouse Koh Samui

I've always sworn I would never make this post but my brain is official fried on information overload.

Please help me find what I'm looking for or at least close...I'll try to be as specific as possible.

-Not on Chaweng
-budget no more than 1200 baht ($40 US) less is good.
-Guesthouse on beach (preferable)

-AC
-clean
-A safe for passports and such (in room or available?)

Wow...I'm not all that picky right? I'm brining my husband to Thailand for his first time for the Big 50. We're friendly and like to have a few or more beers with our toes in the sand. Beach bar would be cool. Not into big bars unless you can have a conversation even with the music.

We don't need:

-hot water
-TV
-THE perfect beach but nice is good
-to stay away from all kids, families, honeymooners, couples, backpackers or whatever kind of people that others complain about

I used to be so good at research and making decisions or flying by the seat of my pants but this time I'm stuck.
Oh and we'll be there the first week of Feb. if that matters.

Hi Coral Cove is our favorite on Samui - it's located between Chaweng and Lamai, secluded and the hillside bungalows look down on a smallish but pleasant beach. Best to rent motorbikes and go to Chaweng or Lamai for meals, although there are options along that strip of road too - the view is great!

Mae Nam is the place for you. Get the taxi to drop you off at the waterfront ( about middle of the beach ) and look around for the place to suit yourself. Loads of suitable beach front accomodation.

Home Bay Resort in Mae Nam beach,beach front Bungalows, 1200B.Its nice & clean beach.

Check out Maryoo Resort, quite new and very quiet. Its a 5 min drive north from Chewang and an amazing room for 1100THB

thaibeach....I know I should just show up and look but I have a hard time doing that anymore. (head injury. I'm shocked wiht myself that I'm even going at all)

ocean...Home Bay looks perfect and exactly what we're looking for. Definate possibility!

Viedums and diving...both of those are 'holy cow' expensive. Nice but not in the budget.

Have a look on Agoda, you will find that a 5500THB room turns into a 1400THB room very quickly (dont know if that is too far out of your budget?).

Diving....I've never used agoda or any online booking system for SEA. Never dawn on me to look.

Thanks so much...here I was thinking you were out of your mind. It is a bit more than I would like to spend but I could....hmmmm. Very nice.

Mars is clean, has great AC, is nowhere near chaweng and you don't even need a passport to get there!
