I just booked a spontaneous trip to Laos. It will be my second time in S.E. Asia. We have a looooong ... 9 hour layover in Chiang Mai. I'm assuming this is plenty of time to leave the airport and explore a bit. My questions are this: 1. Is my assumption correct? 2. Will I need to get a visa for the short time I will be leaving the airport and do they do visa on arrival in Chiang Mai? 3. What sights do you all recommend that I'd have time for? and last but not least, are there airport lockers…

Hi, my wife who is slightly disabled and myself arrive in Bangkok from Amsterdam and have four hours to change terminals for Bangkok Airways flight to Samui.
Can anyone advise on how to get from arrivals to the internal departures hall ?
Since KLM don't have a flight share with BA we have to go through immigration and customs on arrival
We can walk albeit slowly but are not sure how far and directions would be greatly appreciated ?

• island/beach in the south in January

• sandy beach preferable tropical or/and rocks around for that lovely Thai vibe

• calm blue sea

• tourism fine but not a party or very crowed island

• more to do then only beach would be nice. Like walk in nature or rent a bike or scooter to explore.

Where should we go? Does it ring a bell? I would love to hear!

I plan to travel to Thailand (first time ) for 12 days on Feb . I wish to visit Bangkok, Pukhet, Krabi & kanchanaburi(mainly erawan), Please help me for the below

1 Twelve days is enough to visit these places ?
2. How to travel and how many days to stay each location ? (like first go to krabi then pukhet then bangkok or .....reverse )
3. can i do immigration in krabi or pukhet airport ?

I'm thinking of going to Thailand second half August and first week of Sept 2019.
(Previously only been to BKK at christmas/New Year time).
I'm aware this period is the rainy season. Rain itself not a problem for me, being very warm anyway.
I would like some input on how disruptive or problematic this season could be for spending time on beaches and in the sea. I am thinking of Phuket and possibly Koh Tao/Koh Samui, before heading up to BKK.

I want to fly Finnair from Manchester to Phnom penh, and the layover times in Helsinki and Bangkok are quite short. Everything should be fine in Helsinki, since the incoming flight should be on time and the airport is well-organized, but Bangkok Suvarnabhumi is usually chaotic, and I will only have 1 hour 45 minutes before my Bangkok Airways flight to Phnom Penh takes off.

Finnair codeshares with Bangkok Airways. Can somebody tell me if I would need to pass through passport control and customs…

Hey beautiful people. Next trip to Thailand I am planning on crossing the temples of Kamphaeng Phet and Si Satchanalai off my list :) Looking at some other out of the way places to visit and Sangkhlaburi keeps popping up. It's a bit of a de-tour as we'll be arriving into BKK and making our way to Chiang Mai via the above temple towns. We would like to nail down accommodation before we arrive so we can get the best value, but not plan too much to keep an element of spontaneity. We arrived in phuket on the 4th of December and are looking to stay in the same place for a month. Ideally a nice beach close by, nice food, peaceful and kid friendly.

We were thinking about Rawai, koh Lanta, Koh Lipe...and eventually koh phangan. Do you have any other ideas or advices on these different location?
