I am in 2wks about to embark on a 8mths trip around remote se asia, I have just been given a prescription from my doctor (In London) for Lariam (mefloquine hydrocloride) for the duration of the trip, however I have been to 2 chemists who have told its going to cost £100 for the tablets...Can anyone think of a cheaper way? Does boots in bangkok sell them? Are these tablets easy to get hold of in bangkok? Am I best waiting til I arrive to get them? Any advice you can offer would be appreciated…

Who's been to koh Kradan and stayed there for a bit. So not for a day trip but spend some time? We're traveling to the Island, sorted accomodation and now how to get there.that not the prop. just can't seem to get any info on the recent state (after tsuname) or on simple things as any places to eat drink etc.

the only info on the www is that of the accomodation owner and that's just not sufficient.

I'd love to get into Thailand on a one-way flight. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I've thought about flying there one-way and buying an onward ticket before going through customs and then returning it, but I'm not familiar with the airport having only been there twice, and I don't know if the ticket counter is acsessible from the other side of customs...

My Mastercard lost its magnetic strip today, luckily I had a spare.

Try to use the ATM in the daytime for reasons in my post below, plus, if the bank is closed and there is a problem or malfunction, you can't do anything about it untill next day. Not much of a problem unless you are leaving that night or early next day and can't extend your trip.

Recently l had a young girl from the UK come into my shop, to do some internet banking. To her horror she found that one of her credit cards had been stolen overnight and just about maxed out. l have no idea of the sum involved, but as she immediately burst into tears, so l guess it must have been fairly substantial.

I'm off to Thailand at the end of November for a while and i'm after some info on freshwater fishing there. The areas i will be going....Kanchanaburi, Lampang, Pai, Soppong, Mae Hong Son, Um Phang and then down into southern Thailand.
I'm only going to take a telescopic rod with me and a few bits of gear but thought it would be a good way to while away a few hours.
