Koh Phangan

G'day. We are mid fifties, like a drink & great food & right now we're staying over on thong Nai Pan beach, on Koh Phangan. The beach is great but the place we are staying is noisy at night due to bungalows being too close together, people sitting out on their balconies partying till the early hours & a disco right behind our resort. This is all OK if that's what you're looking for but we wanted a nice quiet place where we can sleep 8 hours a night uninterrupted.

Anyone have any ideas of other…

Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help us. We are looking for a hotel to stay on phi phi. We would like something with aircon / fan, not too close to Ton Sai Village I was thinking Hat Yao or Hat Hin Khom for around 3,000 - 4,000 baht per night. Ideally a villa/bungalow close to the beach.

I was going to book the phi phi the beach resort but have heard very mixed reviews. Its the first days of our honeymoon so I really don't want to take any gambles. We are staying around the 12th of march.

Hi again...

My wife and I have our flights booked (Thai Airways), and ready to travel from Sydney (Australia) to Bangkok on 2nd March - flying out from Bangkok on 31st March.

As this is 30 days duration within Thailand - do I need to pre-arrange our tourist visas, or do we obtain them at Bangkok airport upon arrival.

If at the airport, do we need (1 or 2) passport photos each, and how much will the Visas cost?

Any other relevant information appreciated.

Many thanks in advance...
OzScott

On our way back from Laos my husband would like to catch the train fron Udon Thani to Bangkok as he loves the journey, me on the other hand I want to fly as we are only on a 2 week holiday and the thought of sitting in a train for 10 hours when I could be doing last minute shopping is not my total idea of fun. We have caught many trains around Thailand before which I have enjoyed but that was when we were not on limited time. If anyone has done the trip, is it worth it, do you get to see…

Imagine a numbered scale, from one to ten, representing general conservativism/progressivism (one being very conservative, ten being very progressive) a scale that encompasses the entire range of public opinion in a given country on a number of issues, issues such as all facets of politics, social or interpersonal protocols, sexuality, gender issues, economic policy, social financial networks, art, science and so on. Now, apply this mode of qualifying populations' tendencies toward either…
