Woman travelling alone + lockers

Hey all!
This is Kathi. I'm on Bali right now and will go to Thailand in about three weeks. I'm actually a litte scared because I heard that it is dangerous to travl alone in Thailand especially as a woman. Do xou have any experiences or hints/ideas what to do?

Anybody want to travel with me ;)

And then I need an advice on what to do with my surfboard, laptop and other stuff I have from being on Bali for more than 6 months.

Where can I lock in my stuff?
