Hello

Two seperate questions on two different Thai visas hope you can help

I am currently living in Japan but plan on moving to Thailand to live and hopefully work. I am wondering if I apply for a tourist visa at the price of 30 dollars or so but have no proof of onward travel will I encounter the same problems as people have had when they have just gone for the visa on arrival?

Also does anyone know if I apply for the non-immigrant visa do I need proof that says I have a job already lined up or is that not nessecary until I apply for a work permit.

Thanks,

to enter the kingdom you will need either a visa or a ticket onward.

there is no way you will get a non immigrant visa by fronting up w/o a reason.

issue closed.

cheers monk appreciate the quick reply

so if i appear to tokyo airport with a tourist visa already attached to my passport i will get through everything no hassle?

i had a feeling that would be the case with the non immigrant visa but just wanted to double check

thanks again

Sim, I use to buy a one way ticket from HIS, and they would make me sign a form that they nor the airline are not resposible if entry is denied.
But since Thai goverment turned anil and started displaying the law, which they hardly enforce, an airline may not let you board a plane from Japan to Thai with a one way ticket. So that waiver may not be around any more.

I just flew in to BKK from Israel on one way, NP.

simeypimey - You do not state your nationality but that's not important if you have a Tourist Visa. There is no requirement for a return or onward ticket if you have this. The return/onward ticket only applies to persons wishing to enter Thailand Visa free for 30 days for tourism- not technically a Visa.

Therr are various types of Non-Immigrant Visas see http://www.thaivisa.com/ or consult your local Thai Embassy/ Consulate.

sp/wp you are correct. just get the visa if you want to stay 2 mos and possibly extend. 1 month = stamp + onward ticket

no messing around anymore - in fact, you may not get on theplane w/o a visa or a ticket~!
