why farang/foreigners use chopsticks with Thai food

i thought chopsticks were made from bamboo, I am sure the hardwoods of the rainforests of borneo are saved for furniture.

Yep, me too. Although I'm not holding out for much.

It depends on the country and the kind of rice. The Chinese tend to shovel it, but the Japanese have a whole series of manners and codes surrounding how you hold and use chop-sticks - the must think westerners are a bunch of animals when they see them eating with chop-sticks.

Chop-sticks are usually made from the bones of baby seals.
