West coast, possibly Hat Yao, should suffice.

Bottle Beach is on the north and is excellent. There were only 4 guest houses there when I went before, all of the same kind of standard.

For the west, Long Bay Resort is good. They have a variety of different room standards from beach-front, aircon and minibar bungalows for about 1,400 Baht to small (but clean) fan rooms at the back away from the beach for approx 600 Baht.

Phanganburi Resort & Health Spa is also good (price range is about 1730 - 4500 Baht), This charming resort is located on Had Rin Nai, west side of the island with tranquil sunset. It is within five minutes walking distance to famous Had Rin Nok, east side where guest can enjoy island's activities. Island is accessible via Suratthani or Samui island. Phangan Buri is considered to be one of the most luxurious and scenic resorts in Haad Rin

Something tells me nuttakorn works for Phanganburi Resort & Health Spa... ;)

1500 may be peak season rates then, I paid less before. Also that's probably walk-in rate, book through a travel agent and it makes it cheaper.
