Also, the website says you cannot store electrical stuff....is that true? will they check? i really want to leave my hair straightner and dryer there and not lug it through thailand, is there anyway ill be able to?

thanks heaps xxx

I have not tried leaving stuff at the airport in Thailand, but I left bags at various guesthouses in Bangkok while coming and going from town. I never had a problem -- everything was always intact, and my locks were still in place. That said, the nicer your bag, the more likely it is that someone will be tempted to look inside. I would feel comfortable leaving a bag at the airport, though. They have more to lose reputation-wise if something happens to your belongings. As for the electronics, they may prohibit leaving them for safety reasons (i.e. they may Xray your bag to make sure you're not leaving behind bombs, and if there are electronics inside, they may be suspicious, and not want to bother with a potentially dangerous serach). Or they may just not want to be responsible for valuable electronics being left behind and potentially stolen or lost...I'd guess it's the second reason...so if I were you, I would just leave my bag at the airport with my hairdryer inside. Unless you have really really valuable stuff, I wouldn't worry.

I'd hardly call a hair dryer an "electronic device".

"what to do with my hair dryer???"

if I would have asked that question on this fourm the answers would have flooded in with things like...

"stand in water, shove it up your ass and turn it on high"

you skated Princess!

I used the airport left-luggage last summer and found it to be very safe and secure.Back-pack was exactly as we left it!My hairdryer(travel) was in it as well as lots of presents etc.Should be O.K.!
