Hello Everybody

My girlfriend and I are hoping to go to Thailand next year for a two or three week holiday. Due to work commitments we can only go early to mid August of next year. I was hoping to go to Koh Samui but I have heard the weather would not be very good for us.

Could anyone please help me and tell me what the weather would be like at this time of year in Samui?

Thank you all for your time.

Rodders

That time of the year the weather is usually as good as it gets! Try checking out my archives in my Samui info and weather blog it goes back 4 years.
It's hard to pick a better time in Samui, only downside being that it may be busy.

My personal opinion is the latter half of august is usually better than the first half in terms of weather.

Agreed #1, Samui islands are likely to have the best weather of any islands in the country in August. But consider Phangan and Tao rather than Samui to escape the crowds. E.g. superb snorkelling should be available on Ko Tao's quiet east coast at that time. Take a look on TravelFish for a weather map and details about the islands . . .

Yeah, August is usually real nice on Samui - that area has a different wet season, usually Oct into Jan.
All the pix on my Samui page were taken in August - lots of sunshine there. Can find it HERE
But limbo's weather blog gives a better all round idea.
