Well I would assume, that if people would only get 15 days at the airport (comming from any of those places) that they likely would complain about it, either here or on thaivisa.com.

you're making a lot of assumptions today.

i know this is now bit of topic but i just came back from the Thai embassy in london with 60 days visa with 2 entries! YES!!

bit odd though, as thought as a czech citizen i only qualify for 30 days. but hey, all good, great even!

my question now is: if i fly to Thailand, spend 30 days there, leave by land and come back say 2 weeks later, am i an exemption to those 15 days or will my 60 days 2 entries visa over rule that? should do,right?

You still will only receive a 30 day stamp when entering Thailand.

and to answer your question, if you re-enter Thailand for the second time, you will again receive 30 days, (providing you enter before the expiration date printed on the visa (the use before date).

oh right. i understood that once i get there i can stay 60 days. well i guess i'll sod off to Bali for a while and come back to enjoy another 30 days then.
thought it was weird, esp when the visa stamp does actually not say how many days n that....
cheers for the explanation, will help me book my flights etc

Yeah the visa doesn't state the number of days, this is depending on the nationality, some get a 60 days stamp, most others get only 30 days, of course if you want to stay longer, you could always buy an extension, 30 days, 1900 baht at the nearest immigration office in Thailand.

Your first entry will be used as you do not qualify for the 30 days stamp. You do not say that you have a flight out of Thailand within 30 days. The officer will see the visa and you will have to answer a question..
Comming back overland... it depends how long you would like to stay in Thailand. less or more than 16 days.

don't worry Luciemx, your double entry tourist visa wil indeed give you 2 entries, no questions asked, no tickets needed.

hold on guys, this is not what i want to hear - getting rather confused again.

i have not bought a flight yet, coz wasn't sure of all this.
i'd like to go to thailand for 30 days at least. was hoping to go very soon, like next week or so.
then after say 30 days, i wanna pop to Bali. i think i'd fly there. so that would be my out ticket from thailand.
now that i have 2 entries to thailand, can i then come back to Thailand on the same visa, or do i have to apply at the boarders or what? yes or no?
then after another hopefully 20 days i'd leave thailand for good.
