I read somewhere that with triple visa you can stay "6030+60+30+60+30". If visa is valid for 6 months, how is that possible? Also I thought you can only extend once for each visa, is it possible to extend each entry? What are the maximum days one can stay with single, double & triple visas? If someone can write "6030" style maximum combinations I'll be glad. Thanks

The visa validity refers to the length of time the visa remains good for before it is used. If the visa validity is 6 months it means you must enter Thailand within 6 months before it expires. It does not refer to the total amount of time you are allowed to stay on that visa.

There is no validity time on visas any more - it will give an 'expiry date' so there is no ambiguity.

Thanks for replies. So those are the maximum days one can stay in Thailand right?

Triple: 6030+60+30+6030 (9 months)
Double: 6030+6030 (6 months)
Single: 60+30 (3 months)

ok so im a bit confused. I am travelling to bangkok in november. i stay 4 days, the we cross the border to laos for 2 weeks, and then we come ba k to bangkok and travel to the islands in the south until january. so does this mean i have to fly from vientiane back to bangkok? and if im reading right, if we crossed by land then we would only get 15 days of a tourist visa?

Yes, 15 days, but no, not tourist visa but visa exempt entry.

I may be wrong about this , perhaps Capt Bob or the others can correct this if necessary but I think are no such things as double or triple visas . There are double ENTRY visas which allow you to go in and and out within the stay time , it doesn't mean you get another 2 months visa when you come back in.
If you are wanting to stay amounts of time like 6 or 9 months I think you need to to think about non immigrant visa or do visa runs by getting new tourist visas . And remember each time you get an extension on a visa thats 1900 baht , not that cost effective .
But the idea of a single visa that could allow you to stay - 6030+60+30+6030 , I think thats a fantasy .

With a triple entry (very hard top get though) 6030+60+30+6030 is correct.

According to this WEBSITE for what its worth it suggests you could theorectically stay 282 days on Triple entry visa , but after each 60 + 30 period you to leave the country and come back in again.

Would it be easier for him to get non immigrant visa than this Triple Entry visa ?.

Remember the visa will expire in 90 days from the date of issue - so the last entry must be made before 90 days from the date of issue. So if you get a visa and use it the next day for 60 days and extend 30 - there goes 90 days. Finished.
