Hi Everyone,

I'm going to Thailand next week and I would like to get some advice from You, who have already been traveling there:

-cheap, interesting but comfortable way of traveling from Bangkok to south parts of Thailand - train/bus/flight - what companies, websites where I can book tickets & see prices.

-what do You recommend to see on the way between Bangkok and Krabi Province (natural wonders - islands, national parks, lakes, moutains, beaches, caves, waterfalls etc)

-what are prices for renting private, double room for 2 weeks around coast line ? Where i can look for offers ? Have You stayed in place like this and You have any suggestions? - I've readed on some blogs that people were renting rooms in private houses (not hostels or b&b) for good prices there. It's easy to find room that way ?

Have you just booked your ticket? Otherwise you have been lazy and not researched all those things you ask about. Either read posts here or buy a guide book.

I'm not asking for judging me and telling me who i am.

I have my ticket booked, i have guidebook readed. They are mainly recommending hotels and resorts.. I'm sking people who've been there before and have some real life experience.
Im not prepared because i was working last month 55hrs/week and i had no chance to do bigger research.

take the 3rd class trains in the day and the orange, non-AC local buses. MrsGeer37 and I traveled from BKK down to Krabi via Ranong. the buses are slow, but cheap. it takes the better part of the day moving place to place.

lots of small cities and towns to stop in for a day or 3. I recommend Prachuap Kiri Khan and Ranong for sure Chumphon too. and Koh Pha Yam as an island just off Ranong.

we did the return trip up thru Song Khla and Nakon Sri Thammarant then Donsak/Samui/KPN.

brush up on your Thai-- at least the "I'm going to xxxxx" bit. knowing your numbers helps a bit too.

The slow train is the best option you get to see a lot of the small towns along the way. Or just fly to phuket (Air asia flies for about 30-40 euros return ticket) take the ferry and then make your way up from krabi. I will be next week also in Thailand, 5 days phuket and ko phi phi, then in november Bangkok. Hit met up if you need some info.
