A couple of friends are soon to visit Bangkok & I'm considering asking them to get some CAD software* whilst out there (in MBK) - can anybody tell me the latest price per disc?

Most software will run between 100~400 baht.

Agree with #1. They charge PER DISK, so for instance, a Roxio Burning program is twice as much as Nero 7, since its two disks vs one.
Easy places to find this stuff would be MBK (5th or 6th floor in the area closet to the Skytrain line), Panthip Plaza (3rd floor, I believe), Patpong night market, along Sukhumvit between Sois 5-15, and probably a million other places. It's hard to believe that the press reports about the successful crackdowns on pirated material in Thailand, though I did read a recent article that they (US govt) are trying to forge a new agreement whereby street vendors are more heavily penalized (right now, all they face is confiscation of the material...which is why you always have to wait for a runner to bring the material you paid for.....and whatever small on-the-spot fine they negotiate.....meanwhile the huge crime syndicates that run the show keep getting away with paying off whoever they need to pay off in the gov't).

Hello and thanks for the replies so far.

I've bought this type of software in the past & know it was per disc - problem is that I've not been in Thailand for one year & was curious to see if anything had changed substantially pricewise.

#3. Yes, I've sometimes done this but sometimes with problems attached.
