Hi, can anybody recommend some of the best places in Thailand for snorkelling from the shore onto coral reefs, where there is also a street food culture .

Many Thanks

In my experience, the southern Andaman islands around Koh Lipe.

It depends on the time of year.

November to April is good on the West/Andaman side

January-July is good in Tao or Pha Ngan in the lower gulf.

In most tourist islands, the food is at the resorts. Generally, there isn't much street-food culture on the islands, except, perhaps, on bigger islands where there are locals, outside of the tourist business, who live there.

There are underwater pictures and descriptions of most snorkelling spots in Thailand on http://WhatsTheSnorkellingLike.wordpress.com
