Would I see any maritime wildlife snorkeling at the Similans that I did not have around Phi Phi and Ko Tao?

I have been lucky to see turtles and sharks so far and lots of smaller fish.

Now its 2 days off to the Similans for another snorkeling trip or spending 2 days trekking and doing a lake trip in Khao Sok National Park.

I don't know about snorkelling but the diving round the Similans is vastly superior to anywhere else in Thailand

Similans are more suited to diving , Ko Surin National park islands are better suited for snorkeling although there has been coral degradation and you need more than 2 days to visit the Surin islands unless you are on a boat tour. Also its the wrong time of year and Surin islands may close soon for the monsoon.

There are a few species in the Similans that you won't find in Tao or Phi Phi, (notably some of the bigger angelfishes) but there are small numbers of them. If you are going on a boat trip, you might get a decent view. If you are just snorkelling off the beach, it is less likely. Similans will also be closing soon (and daytrips to Bon probably already have).
