#23 If a girl wants to go out for dinner and drinks she should be able to afford to pay for them and not assume the man will
She should, but doesn't always happen.
I knew female nurses that went down to the pub knowing that they would get "free" drinks from guys if they led them on, but would leave without 'sealing the deal". A right nasty scam.

I once got conned into taking an ex work colleague to an expensive restaurant in the belief that she would pay for her own meal. I was gobsmacked later when she made it clear that I had to pay the whole bill.
I was a woose back then, so I paid it, but now, I'd just pay for my meal, and walk out on her. leaving her to get a cab back home- some women are soooooo skank!

Is that relevant in Thailand where women don't have the same rights?

Western women (and Thais for that matter), do reciprocate and pay sometimes. I can't believe it is so over analyzed. It's a few bucks.

Why do you deserved to be treated special at work if they don't? Why is it a bad thing that women make the same amount as a man in the west now? Are they not capable? Are they less intelligent?

Hmmmm, I was interested to see that it is a big looking bike but only has a 249cc motor. So you should be OK on your travel insurance.

I wonder how many tourists realise that travel insurance only covers up to 250cc in many cases?

1- I have regular insurance. Been living here for the better part of 7 years, so I wouldn't call myself a tourist.
2- they have a 650cc model as well, but I would never want something that big on most roads in Thailand (I wouldn't want to be going that fast around Thai drivers and it would be unnecessary on windy roads in MHS).

^^ oh, sorry about that.
Can you tell us what insurance company you use?
I'm a bit paranoid about Thai companies- I paid for my wife to have Thai insurance, but the company wasn't very good when it came to paying out.

Whoa. I just realized you meant car insurance, right? That I only have in America as I've never owned a car or any vehicle in Thailand for that matter. I've never rented over 250CC, so it's good to know that if you go over that the shops' insurance doesn't cover.

For health insurance, I use Aetna which is covered in the international hospitals and if it's not international, they reimburse me. Since I do go back and forth to the States for work and sometimes have to spend months at a time here, I'd much rather just keep my insurance here.
